From Passmore on 26 January 2008; updated on 30 January 2008; updated on 4 February 2008: On 28 January I conducted a search on Selectory (Dun & Bradstreet/Harris information service) to retrieve information about firms with primary NAICS code 332117 in the 814 area code. The search retrieved only two records, which I posted to this wiki. On 30 January, John Piccolo sent to Rose Baker and me a note that included, "Attached you will find the companies in our database that we have coded as Advanced Materials and Diversified Manufacturing (Metals & Metal Fabrication). " We have the Excel file that John sent that contains the list of 152 companies. Many of them have company names that indicate powdered and sintered metals products, but it is difficult to identify, in a few cases, whether some firms in the list are involved with powdered metals manufacturing (e.g., Glen Hawbaker is listed). Passmore is checking with Piccolo to determine if these data are accessible to our work group. Contact Passmore of you would like to review an edit that John Piccolo is performing on this list of companies.

The data is definitely available to the group; the only thing that I ask is if anyone from PSU feels compelled to contact companies in our service area, to keep us in the loop… The list includes all the companies that we have coded as metals and metal manufacturing, so John Blasdell and I will develop a more useful PM list which I will upload to this site.

Rose and I talked yesterday about our Selectory database only included over ten (I think) employees, hence the low number, but we also figured we would definitely get the larger database for this (and other needs) as the additional cost is not that material. So that should line the databases up much better.
