14 Feb 2008 @ 839 am from Passmore: In a comment in the front page of this wiki, John Blasdel wrote yesterday: "Folks...sorry for being out of the loop the last week. As John Piccolo
conveyed, all those attending the plant tour and meeting @ North
Central can meet on the second floor of the DEF Building on campus
around 10:15. We'll then proceed to Metaldyne Ridgway for a plant tour.
After the tour, we'll head to North Central for the lunch and meeting.
We can then make way to Horizon Technology in St. Marys. Please contact me if you need directions to the DuBois campus."
13 Feb 2008 @ 9:58 am from Passmore: I don't know if you saw John Piccolo's comment on the front page of the wiki, but here is what he wrote 5 days ago-- "I have coordinated the
plant tours around our 19th meeting at North Central. The first tour
will take place at Metaldyne in Ridgway with Bob Tami at 11:00 AM.
Following the tour the group will travel to North Central to have lunch
and attend the meeting (that agenda will be worked out during the
meeting on the 15th). Following the meeting, the group will travel to
St. Marys for a 3:00 PM tour at Horizon Technology with Eric Wolfe
(Eric will prove to be our biggest ally and most influential member of
the PM group). After that tour, the group will travel back to State
College. I suggest that the people attending the 11:00 AM tour, meet
John Blasdell at the DuBois Campus (DEF Building, 2nd floor) at 10:15."
4 Feb 2008 @ 10:33 am from Passmore: John Blasdell indicated that he can attend the 19 Feb meeting. Tim Franklin wrote in an e-mail note to me that, "I can leave campus on the 19th at 11:15 and arrive in Dubois about two hours later. I can be available until the end of the business day." John Piccolo, our tours are in the morning?
1 Feb 2008 @ 9:13 am from Passmore: Wes Donahue indicated in a response to the Doodle scheduler this morning that he is able to attend the 19 February meeting.
1 Feb 2008 @ 5:22 am from Passmore: In a comment posted on the powdered metals wiki home page, John Piccolo wrote, "They [members of the powdered metals industry partnership] invited us to the next meeting to talk about the proposal and next
steps as a partner. The next meeting is Tuesday, February 19th at 12:30
which includes lunch. I will not be available that Day, but John
Blasdell from our office is. We should probably schedule a call or
meeting to discuss who will attend on the 19th. I will also schedule a
plant tour through at least one, hopefully two PM facilities that
morning." I believe that this is a "must make" meeting for at least some of our team if we are to engage with the partnership in the preparation of our EDA proposal.
Based on the Doodle scheduling poll at http://www.doodle.ch/9qtc7q2wazakhvrm, travel by University Park folks to the DuBois area to meet Piccolo and Blasdell on 19 Feb for a meeting with the powdered metals industry partnership and for a tour of powdered metals facilities seems to have limited feasibility for the entire group. Here is the information I have about our group's availability for this meeting: Can attend: Baker and Passmore. Cannot attend: Curley and Piccolo. Could attend, but only with rescheduling of prior commitments: Lawrence, Figurelle, and Franklin (based upon Figurelle note on Doodle scheduling poll). Information not available: Abbey, Donahue, and Blasdell. My assumption is that Blasdell is available because he is hosting the partnership meeting (am I correct?).
To move things along, I suggest that (a) Blasdell/Piccolo plan facility tours for the morning of 19 February; (b) Baker and Passmore travel to DuBois area as early as needed to take a tour of facilities; (c) Baker and Passmore discuss with industry partners plans for the EDA study at their 19 February meeting starting at 12:30 pm; and (d) Baker and Passmore share notes and impressions of tour and meeting with members of this proposal development group via the powdered metals wiki.
Some preparations suggested: (a) Blasdell/Piccolo share an agenda for 19 February with this EDA proposal development group as soon as feasible; (b) other members of the proposal development group notify Blasdell/Piccolo if their schedules will allow them to attend any or all of the 19 February DuBois meeting and tours; (c) on 1 Feb, Passmore requests scheduling of OEWD vehicle for travel from University Park to DuBois and notifies the proposal development group about vehicle availability; and Baker/Passmore share background materials for 19 Fbruary meeting with members of this proposal development group by 14 February.
31 January 2008 @ 3:54 pm note by Passmore: 19 February travel to visit north central powdered metals firms and the industry consortium. So far at http://www.doodle.ch/9qtc7q2wazakhvrm, I can travel, but Wayne F, Mike L., and Bill C. cannot attend. Haven't heard from Abbey, and Donahue. I assume that Piccolo and Blasdel are there(!). Need to hear yet from Rose Baker and Tim Franklin.
